CLAY COUNTY – Republicans can participate in early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary March 8-16, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Since President Joe Biden is running unopposed in Florida, there won’t be a primary for the Democrat Party. Since Florida has closed elections, which means voters can only vote in their party races during primaries, any of the county’s 83,084 registered Republicans can cast a ballot for any of seven candidates.

While former president Donald J. Trump and Nikki R. Haley are the only active candidates, while Ryan L. Binkley, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Asa Hutchinson, Vivek Ramaswamy and Chris Christie have suspended their campaigns. And, since they haven’t withdrawn, they remained on the ballot.

Early voting will be available at:

• Eagle Landing Residents Club, 3975 Eagle Landing Pkwy., Orange Park

• Fleming Island Library, 1895 Town Center Blvd., Fleming Island

• Keystone Heights City Hall, 555 S. Lawrence Blvd.

• Middleburg Civic Center, 2102 Palmetto St.

• Orange Park Library, 2054 Plainfield Ave.

• Supervisor of Elections Office, 500 N. Orange Ave., Green Cove Springs

• Thrasher-Horne Conference Center, 283 College Dr., Orange Park

Secure Ballot Intake Stations are available at all seven locations but only during Early Voting days and times. A Secure Ballot Intake Station is available inside the lobby of the Elections Office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Vote by Mail ballots must be received in the Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Election Day for the PPP is Tuesday, March 19.

On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned precinct. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters are encouraged to visit ClayElections.gov to verify their information, update their address, find their precinct, and check early voting wait times.
