MIDDLEBURG – Dorothy Burnette turned 100 on Monday, June 10, but her friends, including Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook, got an early jump on the celebration by throwing her a party two days early at the Fraternal Order of Police Clubhouse. “Man’selle” by Art Lund was the No. 1 song on June 10, 1947, and the Republican National Convention in Cleveland became the first political convention broadcast on radio.
