MIDDLEBURG – Cliff Avril took every opportunity to sign autographs and shake hands and hug visitors to Paul C. Armstrong Park last Sunday as part of his Family Fun Day. Following a two-year break for COVID-19, the Clay High graduate and a defensive end with the Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks brought football camp back on Saturday and invited the community to enjoy games, music, face painting and food on Sunday. “The whole purpose behind this is about bringing the community together; bringing family friends; bringing the community together,” Avril said. “I think it’s the family aspect that I’ve always been a big proponent of that. I think it also lifts the community together as well.” Money earned last weekend will go to Avril’s Family Foundation that educates youth about healthy living.
