Former Orange Park (resident 1971-1989) Carole Adele Knee (née Karcher) began eternal rest June 28, 2026 at home with family in Gainesville, where she lived since 2021 with her son Jeff. By then she had a fulfilling life beginning in Pittsburgh, PA as a beloved daughter to Arthur and Frances (with siblings Edna, Norma, Edmund, Robert and Richard). A 1953 graduate of Carrick High, she then worked at the Duquesne Light Co. and met ex-Marine John “Jack” Knee (1933-2021), marrying in 1956. She and Jack had big laughs in common! Staying close to extended family, they had a happy marriage in Virginia (1960-66) and since in Florida with five children, who all survive her (John, Mike, Danny, Jeff and Dana). Her family-centered joy expanded when grandkids showed up (Caroline, Andrew and Jackson). Carole the mom worked and volunteered when possible in Orange Park, and even during “retirement” in St. Augustine (The Alligator Farm gift shop for nine years). She was a longtime member of women’s social clubs, for fun as well. Carole will be interred at a later date at San Lorenzo cemetery in St. Augustine, next to Jack.
