ORANGE PARK – Always Loretta, the ultimate tribute show to Loretta Lynn that includes a special performance of Lynn’s longtime touring band, the Coalminers, and features Emily Portman, is coming to the Thrasher-Horne Center on Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Portman will bring her signature Loretta Lynn flared sound to the stage, which she did during the touring production of Conway Twitty, The Man, The Music, The Legend, The Musical.
“We lost a legend in Country music, and she was an artist that paved the way for so many of us,” Portman said. “I was honored to know her, to have her blessing in portraying her, and it’s a bigger honor to continue carrying on her legacy.”
The original Coalminers who worked with Lynn include Dave Thornhill, Lead guitar and band leader for 55 years; Bob Hempker, Steel guitar for 55 years; Dennis Digby, Bass guitar for 15 years; Monty Parkey, Piano for five years.
Tickets, which start at $29, are available at the box office or at thcenter.org.
The Loretta Lynn Family authorizes the special tribute show and will take you on a journey to remember all the big country hits Lynn had.
