Adults can read selections of digital newspapers at county libraries
CLAY COUNTY – Library visitors can check out a tablet to read a selection of digital newspapers and magazines. Visitors can use the tablets to read: Newsbank Newspapers, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Libby Magazines.
Visitors must be at least 18 and can only check one out at a time with a library card. They also must have a state-issued ID or driver’s license.
The loan period is two hours, with an optional two-hour extension.
Visitors can only use these tablets inside the library to read the specified newspapers and Libby magazines. Visitors cannot reserve or request these tablets from another branch location.
A total of 14 tablets were purchased through a NEFLIN (Northeast Florida Library Information Network) Innovation Grant. The branches will have iPads available starting Monday and plan to add Android tablets soon after. Visitors can choose between the two once they are both available. Replacement costs for damaged/lost tablets are $479.99 for an iPad and $414.96 for an Android.
