ORANGE PARK — It looks like Parker's Kitchen may soon be coming to 492 Blanding Blvd., as the former Bojangles restaurant was recently demolished.
According to building permits, the demolition application for the building was filed back in April. As of now, it is 86% complete.
Parker's Kitchen is a Southern-inspired convenience store, gas station and foodservice chain, known for its fresh-baked biscuits, catfish, grits, sausage and gravy, chicken tenders, pork chops, pulled pork sandwiches, lemonade, fried okra and breakfast burritos.
In addition to Blanding Boulevard, a few other locations are in the works. On Fleming Island, a Parker's is currently planned for the southwest corner of Creighton Road and U.S. Highway 17.
Also, the store could be moving to the site of the former Red Dirt Motorcycles at the Orange Park Mall, which closed two years ago after taking over the former Sears Auto Center, though this is in discussion and has not been confirmed.
