GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Despite the cooler temperatures and pesky rain, hundreds enjoyed the first day of Strawberry Fest Saturday, March 6, at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Vendors sold everything from windows, to rings to deep-fried Oreos and smoked brisket, but the star attraction was, of course, luscious Plant City strawberries. Rachel Spinks of Green Cove Springs not only got to eat strawberry shortcake, but she had it spoon-feed to her by Colt Remley. The Fest ran through Sunday.
