ORANGE PARK – Rock the Box 2, a free night of music to honor heroes and first responders, delighted the Thrasher-Horne Center on Saturday, Aug. 13. LOCASH was the headlining act, but performances by Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant, Brett Myers and Cumberland had the crowd on its feet most of the night. The show was free to troops and veterans, hospital/front line workers, first responders, teachers and linemen. Van Zant joined LOCASH’s Preston Brust and Chris Lucas to sign a couple of Skynyrd songs. The show was organized by St. Michael’s Soldiers, the Middleburg-based nonprofit that supports deployed men and women in the military, as well as local and active military and their families.
