The District Secretary is also the records custodian for LAMSBD and must respond to public records requests and inform the Board of written inquiries made to LAMSBD. The District Secretary will work directly with Board members, County officials, the LAMSBD webmaster, LAMSBD vendors, contractors, and professional service providers, and more.
The District Secretary role requires applicants to be proficient in using Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Applicants must be available to attend every monthly Board meeting, barring personal emergencies. Most Board meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (one Board meeting per month), but scheduling may vary due to holidays or unforeseen events.
