NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

THE PUBLIC IS HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Board of County Commissioners of Clay County, Florida, will hold a public hearing Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard. The hearing will be held in the BCC Meeting Room, 4th Floor of the Clay County Administration Building, 477 Houston Street, Green Cove Springs, Florida. The public hearing is scheduled for the purpose of considering adoption of an ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CLAY COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SEC. 15-3.3 OF ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 15 OF THE CLAY COUNTY CODE BY AMENDING SUBSECTION (b) TO PROHIBIT FEEDING ANIMALS IN COUNTY-OWNED PARKS; AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (f) AND (g) TO PROHIBIT OVERNIGHT VEHICULAR PARKING IN COUNTY-OWNED PARKS; ADDING A SUBSECTION (l) TO PROHIBIT SMOKING, VAPING, AND THE USE OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS IN COUNTY-OWNED PARKS; AND AMENDING THE CURRENT SUBSECTION (l) TO PROVIDE FOR ADDITIONAL PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS AND REDESIGNATING SUCH SUBSECTION AS SUBSECTION (m); PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance. After the public hearing the Board may take immediate action on the proposed ordinance, or may continue its deliberations to a date, time and place then announced without publishing further notice thereof. A copy of the proposed ordinance may be inspected by members of the public in the office of the Clay County County Attorney, Second Floor of the Clay County Administration Building, 477 Houston Street, Green Cove Springs, Florida, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of legal holidays.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, a person deciding to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners with respect to any matter considered at the meeting or at any subsequent meeting to which the Board has continued its deliberations is advised that such person will need a record of all proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of all proceedings is made, which must include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
