GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Magnolia Point Women’s Club donated to several causes during July. The Women’s Club, a not-for-profit volunteer organization, supports causes that coincide with our mission to serve the Clay County community.

On July 11, Women’s Club President Lorna Broughton and member Phyllis Skarbrevik delivered a check for $500 to Mandy Nelson, President of the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry of Orange Park, to help with their recent fundraising efforts to purchase a refrigerated van.

To further assist the organization, six volunteers from the club spent their morning on Saturday, July 15, helping sort out the overwhelming accumulation of donations.

Thanks to member Phyllis Skarbrevik and her husband Charlie, as well as members Nancy Mills, Carrie Cardascia, Phyllis, Kimberly LaPorte, Charlie, and Ramona Ferrara for helping out.

The organization, located at 1010 Fromhart Street in Orange Park, provides help to people in Clay County by providing them with food, clothing, household items, baby items and other assistance as needed.

On Wednesday, July 12, the Women’s Club presented a check for $250 to coaches Jon Love and Ernie Young for the Clay High Boys Golf Team. The golf team will be hosting the Clay High Boys Golf Charity Classic on Aug. 13 at the Magnolia Point Golf Club, beginning at 1 p.m.

The format is a four-person team scramble with food before and after the round.

In addition, you can win a new Cadillac for a hole-in-one. Great raffle prizes are also available, including an Odyssey putter, Titleist Pro V1 golf balls and a round of golf at TPC Sawgrass.

Spots and sponsorships are available by contacting the Magnolia Point Pro Shop at )904) 962-9704.
