We celebrate the beautiful life of Linda Katherine Olsen, who passed away on April 20, 2025. Linda was born on December 27, 1948, in Lancaster, PA. She spent her early years in Louisville, KY, and Fort Wayne, IN. She received a master’s degree in education and taught special education for several years. After teaching, her sharp mind and love of trains led her to a 25-year career with CSX Transportation. Retirement led to a life of cruising the Caribbean with her husband, Fred Hall, who is now deceased. When back on dry land, she embraced life in Orange Park, FL, where she found a vibrant community of friends. There, she pursued passions like greyhound racing, contributing to the garden club, and competing in trivia nights.
Linda brought joy, laughter, and warmth into our lives. She was known for showering friends and family with thoughtful, handmade gifts—from creative jams to lovingly sewn quilts and knitted creations.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Porter; nephews, Ryan Porter and Eric Porter; niece, Ruth Chimenti; and her first husband, Chuck Gregory. Her legacy continues through her grandnieces Claire, Sarah, and Liana Chimenti, and her grandnephews, Hunter and Dexter Porter.
A joyful celebration of her life will be held at the Talon’s Restaurant at Eagle Harbor, 2217 Eagle Harbor Pkwy, Fleming Island, FL 32003, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In honor of her fun-loving spirit, guests are encouraged to wear something casual—flip-flops welcome, per her request—and bring a favorite story, quote, or picture to share.
In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Linda’s generous spirit, please honor her memory with a simple act of kindness for a friend, family member, or stranger.
