OAKLEAF - Oakleaf High quarterback Jack McKissock tossed four touchdown passes; two to Zach Michel, one to Carlos Witherup and one to Denero Jacobs, to blow up a 27-0 first-half lead en route to a 40-12 district win over Fletcher on Monday. The game was played on Monday due to Hurricane Helene on Friday.
McKissock picked apart the Fletcher defense with a 19-yarder to Michel wide-open in the end zone, then hit Witherup on a 25-yard post pattern for a quick 12-0.
A third Oakleaf wide receiver, Denero Jacobs, took a quick out pass from McKissock and split two defenders to finish off a 40-yard scoring pass and run.
Michel, late in the second quarter, made a spectacular leaping grab over a Fletcher defender to catch and run for a 60-yard scoring play to end the half.
Running back Chris Foy II barreled 33 yards to paydirt in the third to put Oakleaf up 33-6 with Oakleaf scoring late on a 70-yard pass play to end the game, 40-12.
