Curt Towne Band rocks into the night with free concert

It was 96 degrees when the Curt Towne Band started its free show at the Doctors Lake Marina on Saturday, Aug. 1, but it did little to dampen the festive mood. Towne’s band was set up on a floating dock, and fans sat outside near the marina bar for a rare live show since local artists were chased off stage by COVID-19. Sheriff candidate Ben Carroll introduced the band, then Towne tore through his repertoire of Southern Rock songs. “There’s nothing more socially distancing that being outside on the water,” Towne said. “We’ve been waiting to get back on stage.”
