Lux Upscale Resale Boutique, located at 3535 U.S. Highway 17 in Westover Station on Fleming Island, closed down in late May.
Shop owner Erica Burks shared an "Important Announcement from Lux" for customers and consignors. The statement read, in part: "We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, the business sale we were negotiating has fallen through. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to close Lux permanently as of Monday, May 26th, 2025. We understand that you may have concerns about unsold inventory and pending payments. Our team is diligently working to organize all consignors' items for collection."
The consignment shop, which opened in 2016, has only remnants of the business remaining. Real estate developer Smith & Young Co. posted “Space Available” signs with contact information on the windows.
