FLEMING ISLAND – With the poster competition complete, Concert on the Green now is accepting applications for the 2021 Young Artist Competition. Winners of the musical competition will earn a $1,000 scholarship.

Clay County students from ninth grade through 12th are eligible for the William Prince Outstanding Jazz Musician scholarship award, while students in sixth grade through 12th are eligible for the Concerto Competition.

The first-place vocalist and instrumentalist in the concerto competition will win $1,000, while the jazz winner will earn $1,000.

Applications and online audition tapes are due by April 9. Final judging will be on April 16.

Military Winners: First place – Rachel Seader, Music Into the Night, senior, Orange Park High. Art teacher – Carrie Keene; Second place – Eleanor Parker, American Music Twister, eighth grade, Lakeside Junior High. Art teacher – Sandra Wiggains.

Senior High Winners: First place – Alivia Corral, The Joy in Music, freshman, Fleming Island. Art teacher – Michael Green; Second place – Paige Hudson, Symphony Colors, sophomore, Orange Park. Art teacher – Carrie Keene; Third place – Jaden Kraemer, Cat and Strings, senior, Orange Park High. Art teacher – Carrie Keene.

Honorable mentions: Kendall Bagmon, Symphonic Blend, sophomore, Orange Park; Shannah Murphy, Serenity, sophomore, Orange Park.

Junior High Winners: First place – Josiah Gierbolini, Tranquil Ocarina, eighth grade, Lake Asbury.
