GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Members of the Green Cove Springs Police Department were at the McDonald’s on Tuesday sharing coffee and meeting residents during breakfast hours as part of its “Coffee with a Cop” program. Detective Douglas Patterson worked the drive-thru window and warned customers to fasten their seatbelts before they could get their orders, telling one man “Hey, you’re in luck today. You better put your seatbelt on first.” The man then drove away with a sausage biscuit and cup of orange juice – and no ticket.
