GREEN COVE SPRINGS – After two successful performances on Friday and Saturday, the Clay County PRCA Rodeo will return to the Cattlemen’s Arena on Sunday for an encore featuring bull riding and barrel racing.
The gates will open at the Clay County Fairgrounds at noon, with the main event busting out of the shoots at 2:30 p.m. There also will be games for children, exhibits, vendors and food trucks.
Friday and Saturday’s shows by the J.C. Kitaif ProRodeos helped cowboys and cowgirls move closer to next month’s Southeast PRCA finals. Organizers said Saturday’s show was in front of another sellout crowd.
The top 12-ranked performers after the Clay County stop and rodeos at Jasper, Alabama, Sept. 18-19 and at Amite City, Louisiana, Oct. 2-3, in saddle bronc riding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding will advance to the playoffs.
For tickets, visit jckitaifprorodeos.com. Tickets are also available at the gate for $26.50 for adults and $16.50 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and younger are free.
