GREEN COVE SPRINGS – U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-District 4) announced Tuesday the appointment of Christina Troope as the new Field Representative responsible for veterans’ affairs.
As a key veteran liaison, Troope will handle veterans’ issues and coordinate with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other stakeholders on behalf of the Fourth District, which includes Clay County.
“As a son of a WWII veteran, I understand that veterans’ benefits are not entitlement – they’re earned,” Bean said. “Our veterans should never be stuck in the bureaucratic process or ever think twice about getting the care they need. That’s why I’m excited to have Christina onboard to assist the more than 70,000 veterans who call the Fourth District home. Christina’s heart for service, unwavering care, and empathy will make her a trusted voice for our veterans’ community.”
Troope grew up in a family of active duty and retired military members and has seen the sacrifice of serving our nation first-hand. Troope brings several years of experience in government and education. She holds a Political Science and History degree from The University of Albany and a Master’s degree in education from the University of West Georgia. Troope looks forward to working with Florida’s patriots in her new role.
Bean’s office reminded veterans if they, a friend or a family member need assistance accessing veterans’ benefits, call (904) 319-9433 or email christina.troope@mail.house.gov.
