The safety of Raggedy Point Road is on the mind of one resident who posed this question:
With the speeding in the area, they are concerned about its effect on the community.
And with the foot traffic to Moccasin Slough Park, they said they mainly worry about the elderly who frequent the area. According to the United States Census Bureau, 21.2% of residents in Fleming Island are 65 and older.
The resident asked if CCSO plans to look into or patrol the area more often.
After speaking with CCSO Patrol Support Lt. Stacey Durham, he said that — in January alone — CCSO has patrolled that particular area 18 times, which he said is quite often.
