This resident's question is a follow-up to one previously sent, wondering why the current Lake Asbury Bonded Transportation construction is happening all at once.
After consulting with the county, I found that the funds were received back in March 2020, which means they had five years to spend approximately $109.7 million.
In regard to resident concerns with the timing of the projects, the county said a lot of it has to do with delays involving the Covid-19 pandemic, which happened around the same time they received the funding.
Bond Transportation Program Administrator Ed Dendor said that the county has done a lot of work in getting the bonds going; however, those circumstances not only pushed back the process, but also essentially forced them to speed it up.
