MIDDLEBURG—Lane widening and reconstruction on County Road 220 from Hollars Place west of Henley Road to Knight Boxx Road will start next week. The entire project is expected to take 16 months to complete.
Work will begin during the week of Dec. 16 and will include improvements at Rideout Ferry Road. Drivers can expect detours that will continue for the duration of the project. All businesses and residents will have full access to their properties. The county worked closely with emergency responders and the school district throughout the planning process.
C.R. will be widened to four lanes from Hollars Place to Chief Ridaught Trail, including intersection improvements at C.R. 220 and Henley Road. Due to construction phasing, lane closures will occur daily.
Also, C.R. 220 will be widened to four lanes from Chief Ridaught Trail to Knight Boxx Road, including a new four-lane bridge over Little Black Creek with signal updates at Knight Boxx Road and Blanding Boulevard to ease traffic congestion.
