GREEN COVE SPRINGS — Calling all youth artists!

Are you looking to show off your best pieces and let your creativity shine?

Whether you're a student or local creator, the Green Cove Springs Village Improvement Association is inviting you to share your work with the community during its inaugural Art Walk on May 17.

In a gallery-museum setup, the event will feature various, visual art designs personally crafted by young, local artists of all abilities.

"There will be a lot to look at. We think it'll be a very fun event," said VIA President Larianne Stutts.

Stutts said the mission of the event is to provide a space and opportunity to shine for those who are serious about their craft. Pieces will not be judged against one another, however, Stutts said there will be a People's Choice award given out.

"The purpose is just to makes sure that everyone who has a gift, has a talent [and] loves to create will feel like they have an opportunity to display their work," she said.

Community members and art enthusiasts are also invited to tour and view the gallery. There will be opportunities to purchase, up to the discretion of each artist.

"We want them to be able to see some of the really talented artist that we've got here in our community," Stutts said.

Those interested in participating can submit their unique artwork by bringing it to the VIA, located at 17 Palmetto Ave., by May 14. Artwork can be old or new.
