In their season opening win over Middleburg, Fleming Island center Carson Crawford executed this tomahawk dunk early in the game en route to a 74-42 win over the Broncos. Last Saturday, Fleming Island lost to Lake Howell 60-45. Lake Howell finished as a Class 6A region finalist with a playoff win over Oakleaf and a region final loss to 6A champion Final Four finisher Tocoi Creek.
Fleming Island girls basketball center Gianna Crawford punched in for 26 points in a win over Middleburg in game two of 2025 with the Golden Eagles now at 3-0 with wins over Westside and Stanton. Crawford, a sophomore, is averaging 23.7 points per game.
Orange Park High guard Mariah Young got some tough defense from Oakleaf guard Janiyla Owens here in the Lady Raiders' tough 58-54 win over Oakleaf last Thursday. Orange Park, 2-2, opened with losses to Bolles and Ponte Vedra and now have wins over Oakleaf and Stanton.
St. Johns Country Day School forward Victoria Sarka battles with Ponte Vedra's Madisoin Brietich for a loose ball in the Spartans' 2-0 loss to the undefeated 5-0-1 Sharks. St. Johns, in usual Spartan fashion, has taken on two state champion programs with a loss to Ponte Vedra and a 3-3 tie with 7A champion Bartram Trail in recent games.
