FLEMING ISLAND- As the premier destination for dinner shows, Broadway-style performances and youth summer camps, you will never miss a beat when it comes to fun things to do on the island.

The Spotlight Center and the Island Theater are places perfect for performing your heart out.

Located at 1809 East W. Parkway, the Spotlight Center opened in 2023 and offers matinee and full dinner shows for crowds of up to 108 people. Shows are performed by the nonprofit Theatre Advancement Production Society. The artists are local, with some also being sourced from Nashville, Tennessee.

Guests are invited to enjoy a show "in the round." In this setting, the stage is placed in the center of the theater, creating an immersive experience for the audience.

Upcoming shows include:

  • "Little Shop of Horrors" on Nov. 1
  • "She Loves Me" from Nov. 7-22
  • "The First Christmas Story Ever Told" from Dec. 5-20
  • "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" on Dec. 20, 22 and 23

Shows begin at 7 p.m. All guests will receive soup, salad and rolls, as well as two entrees, dessert and unlimited soft drinks. Complimentary beer and wine is also served upon request. The menu changes from show to show and will match the overall theme of the production.

In addition to shows, the Spotlight Center also runs various youth camps. The one-week sessions aim to teach campers ages 8 to 18 what it takes to work and create a full production. The program is includes Broadway-trained professionals and culminates into a final showcase at the end of the week.
