CLAY COUNTY – Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County prepared more than 100 warm Thanksgiving meals for local seniors in need.
For the 31st consecutive year, the health system prepared meals for seniors with help from the nonprofit Aging True Community Senior Services, zTrip taxi company, Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Green Cove Springs Police Department.
Approximately 1,100 meals were prepared and delivered across Northeast Florida from the health system's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville.
“This collaboration ensures many seniors in our community receive a fresh Thanksgiving meal,” said Bryan Walrath, President & CEO of St. Vincent’s Clay County. “This effort serves our mission and values. We are committed to caring for our patients and communities with special attention to the poor and vulnerable.”
Drivers donate their time and gasoline to ensure meal delivery. Through this partnership, more than 11,000 meals have been served to families in Northeast Florida.
“Aging True is deeply grateful for the generosity and dedication of our partners at Ascension St. Vincent’s, zTrip, and the many volunteers who make this special day possible,” said Aging True CEO Teresa K. Barton. “For 31 years, this collaboration has ensured that seniors in our community are nourished with a warm Thanksgiving Day meal and reminded that they are valued and cared for. This year, over 1,100 meals will be delivered to seniors in need – a testament to the power of kindness and community. We are honored to be part of this enduring tradition.”
