MIDDLEBURG – Special Olympic athletes from Clay County high schools converged at the Middleburg High football stadium Friday morning for a “Fun Day,” a week ahead of the Florida State Games. School by school, they were greeted by Broncos students, cheerleaders and some of Middleburg High's band members. The athletes enjoyed the welcome party. Some danced, while others high-fived many people in the applauding procession. The Clay County contingent will get an escort by the Sheriff’s Office to the ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World on Friday, May 16, and compete on Saturday, May 17.
