GREEN COVE SPRINGS - Just because the concert schedule at the Cattlemen's Arena was completed doesn't mean there wasn't the sounds of heavy metal at the Clay County Agricultural Fair on Day 8. The wildly successful Demolition Derby played before a sold out crowd in the southeast corner of the fairgrounds with two heats of electric-powered cars for children and two more heats of front-wheeled drive cars for adults. Fleming Island's Logan Battig survived the first heat in a car painted to resemble the No. 51 Mello Yello car from "Days of Thunder, while Natty Santos won the second heat. The Fair concludes on Sunday, April 12.
