Woman charged with attacking two CCSO deputies at bar

ORANGE PARK – A woman who refused to leave a Blanding Boulevard lounge on Monday, June 23, was arrested after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said she spat on one deputy and kicked another.

Misty Ann Inskeep, 40, of Middleburg, was charged with two battery counts of a law enforcement officer, resisting law enforcement with violence, disorderly intoxication, and trespassing after she refused several attempts by an employee of the lounge and two CCSO deputies to leave Crackers Lounge.

When she was detained, she kicked a cellphone from one deputy’s hand and spat on another deputy’s forearm, according to the arrest report.

Once she was placed in the patrol car, CCSO said she banged her head against the glass window. When deputies tried to put a spit hood on her head, the agency said she grabbed a third deputy’s arm and headbutted him in the temple.

Her bond was set at $37,513. Her next court appearance is July 21.

Missing motorcycle tag leads to multiple traffic, drug charges

MIDDLEBURG – A motorcycle rider spotted on County Road 220 without a license tag wound up being charged with a litany of drug and traffic-related charges.

The 43-year-old man attempted to run from a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy by turning into the Orange Park South neighborhood, the agency said.

After dropping his motorcycle near Swimming Pen Elementary, he was immediately captured by the deputy. During the pat-down, deputies then uncovered methamphetamine and cocaine.

Jonathan Wesley Clifton, of Middleburg, was also charged with grand theft auto, operating a motorcycle without a valid license, possession of drug paraphernalia, refusing to obey a lawful order to stop, resisting law enforcement and operating a motorcycle with a suspended license.

According to the arrest report, Clifton had 3.64 grams of cocaine and 10.04 grams of methamphetamine. He was also given a ticket for not having a tag.

Deputies then noticed that the motorcycle's ignition had been “punched” or bypassed. The deputy called the registered owner of the motorcycle, and he didn’t know Clifton.

Clifton’s bond was set at $192,519. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 14.

Man charged with racing, DUI on Blanding Boulevard

ORANGE PARK – A man suspected of racing on Blanding Boulevard on Wednesday, June 18, was also booked into the Clay County Jail for driving under the influence, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.

Bobby Wayne Bracken, 49, of Orange Park, was accused of driving 68 mph in a 45-mph zone with a CCSO patrol car in pursuit, according to the arrest report.

The deputy saw Bracken make a U-turn at Blanding and Edson Drive and quickly accelerate. He used his radar device to lock in his speed and tried to stop Bracken, whose speed had surpassed 70 mph, according to the report.

When he stopped at Blairmore Boulevard, the deputy said he suspected Bracken was intoxicated. After failing a field sobriety test, Bracken was taken to jail and his blood alcohol tested .084 and .087. The legal limit in Florida is .08.

Bracken’s bond was set at $752.
