ORANGE PARK — The Orange Park Woman’s Club cut the ribbon on its new outdoor patio on Thursday, July 17.
Joined by an enthusiastic crowd, the long-awaited space, which had been under construction for the past month, was officially opened.
It includes access to the club’s lawn and garden, a lighted gazebo, a 20-foot by 30-foot paver patio, a deck and overhead lights. In total, the area will hold 80 to 100 guests.
Club President Constance Higginbotham said the space is ideal for renting for any special event, including weddings and receptions.
Higginbotham said that with the new addition, the group hopes to honor the past and look towards the future.
Although the gazebo had already been there for a decade, she said many were asking for use of the outdoor area.
Now, the time has finally come.
"We're glad to have the outdoor area finished," she said. "It's beautiful. Come and see it."
