NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ROAD CLOSING PETITION

The Board of County Commissioners (the Board) of Clay County, Florida, has received a petition (the Petition) filed pursuant to Sections 336.09 and 336.10, Florida Statutes, on behalf of Jonathan A. Simmons, to close, vacate and abandon unopened right of way, being a portion of Tract A as shown on the plat of Southlake Estates Unit One, recorded in Plat Book 20, page 20, of the Public Records of Clay County, Florida, hereinafter described. In accordance with the Petition, the Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard, in the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room on the Fourth Floor of the Clay County Administration Building, 477 Houston Street, Green Cove Springs, Florida, to consider the adoption of a resolution pursuant to Section 336.10, Florida Statutes, closing, vacating and abandoning said road, being more particularly described as follows:
Unopened right of way, being a portion of Tract A as shown on the plat of Southlake Estates Unit One, recorded in Plat Book 20, page 20, of the Public Records of Clay County, Florida, and as referenced on the plat of Hill’s Place, as recorded in Plat Book 34, Page 76, of the Public Records of Clay County, Florida.
All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and be heard by the Board regarding the adoption of the resolution. Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, a person deciding to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at the hearing or at any subsequent hearing to which the Board has continued its deliberations is advised that such person will need a record of all proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of all proceedings is made, which must include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
