Three students from Lake Asbury Junior High School — Anthony Versage, Owen Walsh and Hayden Chapin — were among 20 winners of the 2025 Hamilton Education Program Online (#EduHamOnline) competition and lottery, according to the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and Hamilton.
They recently returned from an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City, where they attended a May 7 performance of Hamilton on Broadway.
The students’ project, titled “Shay’s Rebellion,” retells the story of a farmer's revolt following the Revolutionary War. The project utilized EduHam Online, a free, tailored curriculum for students in grades 6-12 that combines the study of the Founding Era with the performing arts. The program website offers a collection of primary sources, historical figures, events and more.
