ORANGE PARK—On Saturday, the Sophia Fleming Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met to discuss the benefits of knowing one's family history.
The club, which established itself as a space for the descendants of American Patriots, invited the public to come out and hear about the process of learning one's genealogical trace.
In what will involve much research and dedication, chapter registrar Carrie Thomas said it's all worth the while when you find your revolutionary relative.
The group also reviewed the club's history and community outreach initiatives.
Women at least 18 years old who can prove lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who helped achieve American independence are eligible to join the organization.
