FLEMING ISLAND - Andrew Jackson High School first avenged their Fortegra Invitational loss to Fleming Island with a convincing semifinal rematch win, 71-43, before the Tigers battled back from a five-point deficit to Lake Highland Prep only to land a corner three-pointer at the buzzer to win the Battle on the Island boys Gold title 44-41 Saturday night at Fleming Island High School.
Bolles' girls' team took a 68-50 win over Ribault for the Battle on the Island girls title.
Andrew Jackson, 11-1, rolled through games with Gainesville and Fleming Island to get to the Ribault and Ponte Vedra to advance. Fleming Island lost 66-59 to Ponte Vedra in the third-place game; both are now at 9-3.
Fleming Island's lone win for the tournament was an 85-64 win over Davenport in their tournament opener with balanced scoring from Carson Crawford (14 Pts.), Alexander Brown (15 Pts.) and Ayden Greenidge (10 Pts.).

In the Green Bracket, Orange Park won their opener over Miami Ferguson 62-43, then lost two thrillers; 46-41 to Auburndale and 55-53 to Miami Braddock.
In the Girl's division, Fleming Island won their opener, a 56-22 win over Santa Fe with losses to Bolles (60-48) and Rickards (53-35) to finish fourth.
Ridgeview lost their opener to Ribault 47-34 before rebounding with wins over Riverside and Bradford in consolation games.
Oakleaf lost 60-28 to Rickards in their opener.
