ORANGE PARK - Since Annabelle Manning picked up a canvas and a paintbrush a little over a decade ago, she's never looked back.
A therapeutic outlet that combines colorful, bold fun, Manning will be showcasing a wide variety of original acrylic and watercolor pieces at this year's Fall Festival.
"There's a little bit of everything for everybody. Whether it be ocean creatures or landscape, or floral. I even do little drawing illustrations with watercolor and ink."
Manning, who has always been involved in the visual and performing arts sector, turned to painting as a form of healing. A low-pressure way to let go of perfectionism and create something beautiful.
"I got back into it for therapeutic reasons. To help me relax and not think about stressors in life. It was more of just painting for fun," Manning said.
It will be her second year tabling at the Fall Festival. She said it was her best friend, Heidi Blumenschein, who gave her the push to try her first sales show.
Blumenschein, owner of Heidi Crochet Corner, will also be tabling at the event, showing off her crochet pieces.
Crafting for a few years now, Blumenschein said she prides herself in making custom blankets, hats and 3D plushies you can't find anywhere else.
Blumenschein will be traveling all the way from Pennsylvania.
"We split a booth last year. But we were both so popular that we have adjoining booths this year," Blumenschein said.
"It's a girls weekend rolled into [a] business trip at the same time."
Be sure to check out Manning and Blumenschein at the Orange Park Fall Festival on Oct. 18-19. For a full list of vendors and booths, stop by the Information Booth near the Main Stage or visit opfallfestival.com.
