GREEN COVE SPRINGS - In addition to saluting the Clay County Veteran, Volunteer and Youth Volunteers of the Year and Distinguished Service to Their Community Awards, the theme for the Saturday, April 25, Touch-A-Truck: Saluting Those Who Serve at the Clay County Fairgrounds was for families to get close-up with some of the heavy machinery that keeps the country rolling after 250 years. Children had the opportunity to sit in the seats occupied by truck, bulldozer and heavy equipment drivers, as well as first responders, military and nonprofit vehicles. Also on display was a black Freightliner created and owned by NBA All-Star Shaquille O'Neal.
