FLEMING ISLAND - The Golden Eagles boys' golf team took a second place finish out of four teams, losing by one shot to Beachside and besting Creekside and Episcopal.

The team was led by Senior Ryan Houck, who fired an even par 36 on the front nine of Cimarrone Golf Club. Senior Tyler Mawhinney was 2-over, with a 38, followed by Senior Carson Moore (40) and Junior Will McGready (41) to close out the 154 total for the team. Senior Alex Blom (44) and Freshman Graham Sauer (47) also played but didn't figure into the final scoring.

Houck shared medalist honors with Beachside's Jaden Nacional. Three matches remain in the regular season before the team travels to Palatka for districts to start the state series matches.
