Darrell Richard Sturdevant, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Helen Sturdevant; brother, Jerry Sturdevant; daughter, Kimberlee Largent; son, Trevor Sturdevant; and granddaughter, Ryleigh Fetherol.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Sturdevant; sister, Judy Andrews (Michael) of FL; sister-in-law, Cheryl Sturdevant of FL; daughter, Kristen Woodley (Michael) of McKinney, TX; son, Wesley Sturdevant (Jennifer) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Katherine Fetherol of Morgantown, WV; step-daughter, Jennifer Cowan (Kevin) of Gates, NC; step-son, James Downes of Portsmouth, VA; step-daughter, Emily Doughty (Brian) of Tapiola, MI; 1 nephew, 2 nieces, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A ceremony with full military honors will be held on May 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Downtown Suffolk Chapel is serving the family. Immediately following the ceremony a Celebration of Life will be held at Milteer Recreation Center in Suffolk, VA.
