GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Clay County Judge Ray Forbess Jr. administered Supervisor oaths to (from left) Dwayne Combass (Seat 4), Rachel Fox (Seat 2) and Garry McIntyre (Seat 3) on Friday, Jan. 10, ahead of the first Clay Soil and Water Conservation District meeting at the County Extension Office. They will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the urban and rural environment through education, protection, restoration and improvements of our soil, water, and natural resources and to assist landowners in their efforts to secure financial assistance through Farm Bill Programs to implement conservation practices, teach conservation programs, assist growers with low volume irrigation systems, update irrigation water management plans, create soil surveys and historical maps, assist local government, educate youth and prevent invasive plants.
