Orange Park students earn Mars Hill honors

Mars Hill University in North Carolina recognizes two Clay County students on the school’s Honor Roll of the Academic Dean at the end of the Fall 2024 semester.

Ivy Leah Gunn and Sasha Noel Wallace, both of Orange Park, were among those earning honors.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 on a minimum of 12 semester hours and carry no grade below a C.

Mars Hill University is a premier private, liberal arts institution offering over 30 baccalaureate degrees, as well as master's degrees in criminal justice, elementary education, teaching, and management. Founded in 1856 by Baptist families of the region, the campus is located just 20 minutes north of Asheville in the mountains of western North Carolina.

 

Vanderploeg graduates from Missouri State University

Madison Vanderploeg of Orange Park graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.

Missouri State University awarded 1,437 degrees to students in fall 2024. The commencement ceremonies took place Dec. 13 at Great Southern Bank Arena. Students who graduated with honors completed at least 30 credit hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.

Missouri State University is a public, comprehensive university system with a mission in public affairs. The institute’s purpose is to develop fully educated people with a focus on ethical leadership, cultural competence and community engagement.

 

Orange Park, Middleburg residents earn degrees at Valdosta State

Valdosta State University announced its Fall 2024 graduating class, including two Clay County residents.

Victoria Foster of Middleburg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies, and Julia Higdon of Orange Park earned her Bachelor of Science in biology.

Established in 1906, Valdosta State University is a premier comprehensive university that offers the extensive academic, cultural, and social opportunities of a major university and the small classes and personal attention of smaller institutions. VSU includes nearly 200 academic programs leading to associate, bachelor, master, specialist, and doctoral degrees as well as options to add a certification, minor, endorsement, or certificate to that degree.
