CLAY COUNTY —Clay County District Schools announced its policy for free and reduced-price meals for the upcoming school year on Wednesday.
For students under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, 2026-2027 meal prices are as follows: elementary lunch is $3, secondary lunch is $3.25 and breakfast is $2 for all grade levels.
Reduced prices are $.40 for lunch and $.30 for breakfast.
Parents must submit an application for their student to receive free or reduced meals. If you have applied before, a new application must still be submitted for the new school year. Online applications can be found at https://www.oneclay.net/o/ccds/page/food-and-nutrition-services.
Paper applications will be sent home on the first day of school. Applications are accepted in either format at any point during the school year.
Students attending a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school are exempt from the application. The following schools will be participating in CEP for the 2026-2027 school year: AMI Kids,
Bannerman Learning Center, Charles E. Bennett Elementary, Coppergate Elementary, Clay Hill Elementary, Doctors Inlet Elementary, Grove Park Elementary, Keystone Heights Elementary, Keystone Heights High, Lakeside Elementary, McRae Elementary, Middleburg Elementary, Montclair Elementary, Orange Park High, Orange Park Junior High, Ridgeview Elementary, S. Bryan Jennings Elementary, W.E. Cherry Elementary, Wilkinson Elementary and Wilkinson Junior High.
If a household includes children at both CEP and non-CEP schools, parents must apply. Household size and income criteria determine eligibility. Once approved, meal benefits last the entire school year.
Do not contact the organization with changes in employment or household
size. If previously denied or approved for reduced meals, and employment or household size changes, you are asked to contact the Food and Nutrition Services Department. SNAP or TANF households are only required to list their child’s name, valid SNAP/TANF case number and the signature of adult household members on the application.
Foster children receive benefits regardless of personal or household income.
Households with migrant, homeless or runaway children should contact the district liaison at (904)336-1346 or the migrant coordinator at (352)955-6855.
Deployed service members are included in household size, but only the portion of the service member’s income available to the household should be reported in household income. Housing allowances from the Military Housing Privatization Initiative are not income.
All other households must provide total gross household income, type and frequency of income, names of household members, the signature of an adult household member and a SSN.
The Food and Nutrition Services Administrative Support Assistant reviews applications.
Dissatisfied parents/guardians may informally speak with the determining official or make a formal appeal to Superintendent David Broskie at 900 Walnut St., (904)336-6500 or 1-(888)663-2529.
