It is with profound sadness we share the peaceful passing of our beloved father, (Claude) Wakefield Sharp, age 97, on September 26, 2024, in Middleburg, Florida.
Born in Gideon, Missouri to James Ernest and Ibbie Irene (Napper) Sharp. Wakefield was an Eagle Scout, a WWII Navy Veteran, a graduate of the University of Missouri, a successful businessman, a great father, and a friend to many. He had a great love for his family, his faith, and his country. His cheerful outlook and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.
Predeceased by his loving wife, Ladell Sharp of 55 years, and son, Mark Wakefield Sharp.
He is survived by sons Kris (Carol) Sharp, and Dan (Kathi) Sharp and daughter Susan (Ray) Badman; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Services and inurnment will be private at the United States National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. The family is grateful for the special care Wakefield received from the staff at Canterfield of Clay County, Middleburg, Florida, and Community Hospice & Palliative Care.
