MIDDLEBURG – Children’s attention seemed divided when they entered a special Christmas room at American Legion Post 250 Saturday afternoon.
On one side sat Santa and Mrs. Claus and The Grinch.
On the other was a large stack of wrapped Christmas presents.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, and The Grinch. Presents. Santa, Mrs. Claus and The Grinch. Presents. What to do?
Every child enjoyed both in a matter of a minute, thanks to the post members who collected donations and raised money to host the free party.
Children and their families had photos taken with the Jolly family and The Grinch. They also got a free toy and were treated to free pizza and a drink.
Two dozen members spent Saturday morning wrapping presents delivered by the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program. They also worked as elves to give gifts and help Santa.
On Sunday, they packed food boxes for deserving families' Christmas dinner.
Post 250 often organizes free community events for nonprofits.
