CCSO units make significant drug trafficking arrest

MIDDLEBURG – A man wanted in Jacksonville was arrested on Oct. 4 after deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Unit tracked him down and followed him to a store on Long Bay Road.

When Ronald Charles Stubbs, 43, left the store, deputies quickly arrested Stubbs with the assistance of K-9 Taz. K-9 Taz then alerted deputies of the likely presence of illegal narcotics inside Stubbs' car.

A search uncovered 25.4 grams of fentanyl, 84.4 grams of methamphetamine, 66,4 grams of cocaine and 43.4 grams of marijuana. He was charged with trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as possession of marijuana.

Stubbs’ bond was set at $575,012.
