MIDDLEBURG - After a fourth consecutive playoff appearance, the Middleburg High football team has grown accustomed to sending a handful of players on to college football with the 2025 season landing 10 players to college gridirons.
Early signee Gino Addison, a running back, led the entourage in November after signing with North Carolina Central University with five players—Jakeyvious Carter, Jordan Williams, Dominic and Darius Swilley, and Jordan Avellino—all headed to Webber International University in South Florida. Bronco quarterback Mason Bacus will head to NCAA Div. II Quincy University in cold and snowy Illinois with Trent Pavlus getting a nod from Presbyterian College in South Carolina. Presbyterian finished at 10-2 last season. Quincy just finished at 6-5 with a third consecutive winning season, a first since 2006-2008 for the football program.
Wide receiver Jordan Avellino finished strong in 2025 and earned a ticket to NAIA Warner University also in south Florida.
Lorelle Pitt, a defensive back, heads north to Erie Community College in New York, who finished 9-1 last year, with safety Floyd Reed headed south to Keiser University in south Florida. Keiser was 12-1 last season and the national runner-up for the NAIA National Championship with a 22-16 loss to Grand View in Texas.
