GREEN COVE SPRINGS — Although Saturday was rainy throughout the county, the Soul Food Festival went on without a hitch.

Many still attended the event, featuring a parade beginning on Palmetto Avenue and many food and craft vendors.

From barbecue and seafood to Caribbean cuisine, there was a variety of options to choose from.

The event also featured many activities, including a barbecue rib contest, sweet potato pie contest and dance-off.

Musical performances from gospel hour and acts like The Special Formula Band and David James kept the crowd on their feet.
