 Juliette Marie Gioia, 87 of Hawthorne, passed from this life on Friday, July 26, 2024, at her home following an extended illness. Born in Gabes, North Africa, she had resided in Virginia before coming to Putnam County in 2004 from Clermont, Florida. Juliette was a homemaker and loving mother to six children. She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Interlachen. Juliette enjoyed playing Bingo, gardening, her plants and flowers, and bird watching and will always be remembered for her passion for cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frank Gioia and a granddaughter, Ashley Sweeney.

Juliette is survived by 6 children, Marguerite Sweeney (Ernie) of Orange Park, Marianna Gioia of Middleburg, Maria Gossage (Stephen) of Middleburg, Sarah Tuschhoff (Kenneth) of Starke, Marie Jo Gioia of Hawthorne and Francesco V. Gioia of Middleburg, a sister, Germaine Valenza of France, 7 grandchildren, Joseph Wright, Grant Gossage, Christopher Sweeney, Christopher Gossage, Jonathan Gossage, Dallas Utt and Deanna Utt as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Interlachen with Father Anthony Basso as officiant. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery in Interlachen.
