GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Vineyard Transitional Center will host its Boston Butt fundraising prelaunch party on Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the facility’s future home dedicated to providing life skill training, housing and counseling to former inmates from the Clay County Jail.
The Boston Butt Cookoff is one of Vineyard’s most-popular fundraisers. Last year, the nonprofit sold more than 600 to support the fundraising project to build a new center at 518 Pine St.
The kickoff launch will include a free lunch of pork sliders and side dishes. Singer/songwriter Ashton Taylor will perform music.
Patrons will be able to pre-order their smoked Thanksgiving Boston Butts.
