ORANGE PARK – According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a passenger of a car pulled over for running a red light while making a turn wound up going to jail on April 20 for trafficking 112.83 grams of methamphetamine.

Ronnie Ehrin Leeman, 45, of Green Cove Springs, was charged with trafficking and resisting law enforcement after the driver of the car gave the sheriff’s office consent to search the car during the traffic stop. When a deputy asked Leeman to provide her identification, she shouted profanity at them, CCSO said.

Leeman refused to allow deputies to search the car’s passenger side, although the owner had consented, CCSO said. After cursing at the deputy and refusing to move, she was handcuffed and placed in the deputy’s car. CCSO found a package of methamphetamine in her backpack.

The driver said she drove Leeman to a house in Jacksonville so she could buy the methamphetamine.

Under Florida law, any amount totaling 14 or more grams constitutes trafficking. Therefore, her bond is $502,505.
